School Programs

SCHOOL CONVOCATIONS

Bongo Boy can provide your school with Recreational Rhythm Convocations. Lower and Upper Elementary students are usually split in two sessions.  We bring drums and percussion for up to 150 students and including ‘found’ percussion from home.

RHYTHM WORKSHOPS

Bongo Boy Music School is honored to have worked with many K-12 schools over the years. We provide 30-45 minute rhythm based workshops for groups of 30-75 students and teachers. Our Facilitators will customize a program based on the teacher/student needs.  We can create a workshop around a specific cultural rhythm or part of the world.  We can also make sure our workshops and programs meet Indiana State Music Standards if requested. Another popular workshop is a Drum Circle with it’s focus on creative expression, communication, listening and cooperation. We provide all drums and percussion for up to 150 students.  Rhythm workshops are our most popular programs within the school setting.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Our Artist in Residence programs last 3-5 days, depending upon the needs of the school.  This program usually allows for each class to participate in a rhythm workshop and a group drum circle.  Often times schools like to wrap up the program with a school convocation where we combine all classes in a group groove!

STAFF TEAM BUILDING

Principals…if you are looking for a fun and creative way to motivate your staff, a Bongo Boy Staff Drum Circle is the perfect activity.  We focus on challenging teachers to think outside of the box, take a step into the unknown and creatively express themselves through rhythm.  The drum circle is focused on team building through various rhythm activities.  The idea is to relax, let go and have fun!

FIELD TRIPS

We have a great facility for field trips should you want to make the trip to Bongo Boy Music School instead of having us come to you. We can accommodate up to 100 students at one time.  Rhythm Workshops or Drum Circles are one hour with 45 minutes of facilitated rhythm activities. The cost is $5/student for groups of 30 or more.  Chaperones are free.
