About Nick

Nick was born in NW Ohio and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana when he was 11 years old. He attended Bishop Dwenger High School where he was active in all aspects of the band program playing saxophone and bassoon. He was the first student in Bishop Dwenger's history to win the Louis Armstrong Award for the best jazz student two years in a row. He was also awarded the John Phillip Sousa award for best all around musician his senior year.

Nick moved to Indianapolis in the fall of 1999 to attend college at Marian College (now Marian University) where he received his B.A. in Music Performance with a concentration on saxophone.

Nick has experience teaching both large groups and private lessons. He has taught at Bishop Dwenger High School (woodwinds and mallet instruments) and at Woodlan High School (all woodwinds) in the marching band programs. Other schools where he has given private lessons include Craig and Fall Creek Middle schools here in Indianapolis.

He is most at home, though, when performing with his band The Twin Cats. The Twin Cats are a high energy Funk/Fusion band based here in Indianapolis that tour throughout the Midwest. Nick has also performed with other ensembles such as: the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Rob Dixon and Triology (jazz/funk), The Franchize (hip hop), Zanna-Doo (pop cover band) etc...
