Private Lessons: $20.00 per 30 minute lesson or $40.00 per one hour lesson. We do have a 2 Month Payment Policy for all private lessons (all lessons are customized to meet each individual students needs). If you cannot afford to pay for the two month pay period, we will put together a payment plan that works best for you as long as the student and/or parents are willing to strictly abide by our two month payment policy.

Group Music Classes for Homeschool Children:

Starting Tuesday, September 7th 2010

This class includes:
A progressive rhythmic and melodic curriculum.
Lessons based on the Indiana State Music Standards
Lessons developed through the Orff-Schulwerk process.

Active music making, speaking rhymes & poems, rhythmic body percussion,
creativemovement, dance, playing instruments, and singing. Lessons are developed from poems, rhymes, story books, singing games, and/or folk songs. Children begin to build a sense of community and self-esteem, as they contribute to the group, as well as develop individual musical skills.

You must pre-register for these classes. Classes will be divided into 6 week sessions:

Cost: $60 for the first registered child, $30 for each additional sibling

Weekly Rock Band Jam: $85.00 per month. This Jam class meets on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm with instructor Tony Burton. Tony will cover everything from musicianship, song form, improvisation, dynamics, space, starts & stops, playing in time, tools to form your own bands and lot, lots more!! Up to 10 people can sign up for each weekly session including:

(1) Drummer and/or percussionist
(1) Bass Guitar player
(4) Guitar players
(1) Keyboard player
(1) Lead Vocalist
(2-3) Backing Vocalists

You DO NOT have to be a student at Bongo Boy Music School to take part in this or any other classes offered. Students sign up on a first come first serve MONTHLY basis.

This class requires participants to show up at least 15 minutes prior to each class in order to set up, tune and prepare for the start of the session.

This class meets on a monthly basis. Ask to speak with Ana for scheduling and details at 317-595-9065. ***You must have at least one year of experience for the class. Pre-registration is required to attend each of the jam classes***

Weekly Hand Drum Class: $5.00 per person every Thursday from 6:30pm-7:00pm before the free community drum circle. Learn how to hit the drums the proper way. Learn some different rhythms and grooves you can apply to your playing in any setting. Instructors Ed Gaus and/or Brian Fields will be teaching this class every week. No Registration is needed. Just show up, sign in and have a blast!!

World Percussion Ensemble: $85.00 per person, per month. This class will meet each Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:00pm (4-5 weeks per month) with instructor Ed Gaus. Come learn culturally specific rhythms from around the world. There will be a specific rhythm picked out each month.

Learn multi-layered rhythms, proper techniques on hand drums and percussion instruments, learn each instrument for each rhythm (there may be up to 10 different parts to learn for one specific rhythm).

This class will move quickly through the basics in order for the student to learn every instrument within each rhythm. Students must have the ability to practice these techniques/rhythms each week in order to keep up with the pace of this class. This is not a private lesson on instruments. Should you not be able to keep up, ask about taking a few private lessons to keep up.

***Playing and Rhythm experience is a plus for this class. Pre-registration is required to attend this class. This class will start on Wednesday JULY 7th***

Kids "Mumbo Jumbo" Class
Come and play!! Join us for a 45 minute Kids "ORFF" music class every Saturday morning from 9:45am-10:30am with Amber Price. Participate in music making by combining the elements of speech (through poems and rhymes), rhythm, body percussion, creative movement, dance, playing instruments and singing. Activities are designed to prepare children for future musical studies and develop ideas for composing, as well as help develop a sense of community and self-esteem, as children contribute to the group. Recommended ages for kids is 5-12 but all ages are welcome to join in the fun. Parents are encouraged to stay and participate. Cost is only $5.00 and all instruments are provided. No reservations are needed.

Kids Rhythm Club
Join us for a 45 minute Kids drum circle every Saturday morning from 10:45am-11:30am. Explore recreational music making through rhythm and rhythm based games. Recommended ages for kids: 3-12 but all ages are welcome to join in. Older kids and parents play supportive rhythms while younger kids explore rhythm on the various instruments. Parents are encouraged to participate. Parents must also stay with kids. Cost is only $5.00 and all instruments are provided. No reservations are needed.

BASIC BIRTHDAY PARTY $195.00: 90 minute session with a 45 minute facilitated drum circle and game session. This also includes tables for food and presents, tablecloths, cups, plates and flatware. YOU supply your own cake, snacks and drinks.

DELUXE BIRTHDAY PARTY $250.00: 90 minute session with a 45 minute facilitated drum circle and game session. This includes everything in the BASIC birthday party INCLUDING cake, lemonade and time for a pinata break (pinata included).

Bongo Boy Music School is honored to have worked with many schools over the years, K-12, providing rhythm based workshops for the students and music teachers. Our Facilitators will customize a program based on the teacher/student needs. Lots of games can be played with our customized drum circles/rhythm workshops using drums, percussion, homemade or found instruments, or any other creative instruments you can think of. Bongo Boy Music School brings all drum and percussion equipment to your school (enough for up to 150 students). We also provide space for field trips to Bongo Boy Music School should you want to make the trip to Castleton instead of us coming to you. Some schools and organizations we have worked with include:
